Television actor Alka Verma, who plays the character of Muskan on the popular show âCID', now hopes cops would find clues to the theft she was subjected to on Thursday evening at Mega Mall in Oshiwara.
Police officials said the theft appeared to be the handiwork of local kids.
"A group of kids waits near the mall and keeps an eye on the vehicles entering the place. They wait for owners to leave their cars and break into them. Their modus operandi is simple. They have tools using which they bend or break the glass and make away with the valuables. Investigation is on and the culprits will be nabbed soon," Senior Inspector Dilip Rupwate of Oshiwara police station said.

As per Verma's complaint, some unidentified thieves smashed the passenger windowpane of her Mercedes, which she had kept in the parking lot of the mall, and swiped valuables worth a lakh.
"The culprits stole two gym bags, my expensive make-up kit and a gold ring. Besides this loss, I will also have to bear the cost of repair," Verma said.
