Interior decoration company seeks police protection after woman employee upset at being transferred threatens to attack the office
A city-based interior decoration company has sought police protection from a woman employee alleging that she was blackmailing the management after being transferred to another department. PR Krishnan, Manager, Human Resource and Administration, Teekays Interior Solutions, has, in a police complaint, stated that trouble started when the management shifted finance officer Princy NK to another department after she was allegedly found to involved in financial irregularities.
When the management sought an explanation of the irregularities, Princy allegedly levelled serious allegations against some staff members to save herself. As per the rules, the company initiated an internal enquiry which revealed that Princy's allegations were baseless and that she was trying to harass the staff. Based on the probe, the management decided to shift her to another department, which enraged Princy.
While Krishnan refused to speak to this reporter, his complaint to the police stated that Princy threatened and blackmailed the management demanding monetary compensation. She told the company that she would rope in a local organisation to attack the office if her demands were not met.
The company got worried after Princy stopped coming to office from November 1 and feared that she would carry out her threat.
K S Venkatesh Naidu, Inspector, Shivajinagar police station, told MiD-DAY that Princy had a financial dispute with the management. He said, "We have assured protection to the company and are investigating the case."
