On Thursday, an earthquake of magnitude 3.9 on the Richter Scale hit Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district.
According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 9:34 p.m.
"No loss of life or damage to property has been reported," the official said. Its epicenter was in Doda.
"It occurred at latitude 33.05 degrees north and longitude 76.18 degrees east," NCS stated.

"Earthquake of Magnitude: 3.9, Occurred on 16-11-2023, 09:34:19 IST, Lat: 33.05 and Long: 76.18, Depth: Doda, Jammu and Kashmir," the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) posted on X.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a fire broke out in the Bhaderwah belt of the Doda district on Thursday. At least eight buildings were gutted in the blaze.
There was no casualty in the blaze that broke out in the Chinnote locality of Bhaderwah at 4.45 am due to a short circuit.
"Five firefighting machines were immediately pressed into service to douse the fire. The fire has been brought under control", Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda, Abdul Qayoom told PTI.
The official confirmed that eight structures were gutted in the fire but there is no loss of life in the incident. "The structures damaged in the fire included residential houses, a guest house and a food joint," the police officials said.
