A man who was fleeing after allegedly killing a woman under the Singhaul Police station area of Bihar's Begusarai district was caught by an agitated mob and beaten up. The man subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
A police official said Jaishankar Singh, a resident of Machha village shot dead his neighbour Subodh Saha's wife Neetu Devi (35) over a land dispute on Tuesday morning.
Seeing him making an attempt to flee, the kin of the deceased and other villagers nabbed Singh and beat him up.
Singhaul police station in-charge Manish Kumar said that Singh was taken to the Sadar Hospital where he died during the treatment.

There is tension prevailing in the area after the two murders.
He said the police have recovered both the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. Initial investigations indicate that the cause of the murder is a land dispute.
