Mansukh Mandviya, on Wednesday, became the new health minister replacing Dr. Harsh Vardhan. He was given charge of both health and chemicals and fertilisers ministries.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan resigned from his portfolio ahead of the major cabinet overhaul.

Two other important portfolios of Railway and I&B were given to Ashwini Vaishnaw and Anurag Thakur respectively.
Anurag Thakur also got the Youth Affairs portfolio along with I&B.
Dharmendra Pradhan has been given charge of the Ministry of Education and also of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
In a major reshuffle, Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought in Sarbananda Sonowal, Narayan Rane and Jyotiraditya Scindia in the Cabinet while dropping as many as 12 ministers including Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, IT and Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar.
