The demands from the saffron-party came over his alleged connection with the Delhi excise policy scam.

CM Kejriwal, who was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate, did not appear before the officials; was rather campaigning in Madhya Pradesh.

Kejriwal claimed that the summons made to him by the agency were "politically motivated" and that it was only issued at the request of the BJP.

The BJP has been accusing Kejriwal of being the mastermind of the alleged scam wherein thousands of crores were pocketed by the Delhi government as kickbacks to promote certain liquor dealers using the now-scrapped Delhi Excise policy.

Virendra Sachdeva, the Delhi BJP president, made a statement during the sit-in, emphasizing their belief that Arvind Kejriwal played a central role in the excise policy scam.

Two prominent Aam Aadmi party leaders--former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and MP Sanjay Singgh--have been arrested by the federal probe agency in connection with the scam.

Eminent BJP leaders, including MP and former Union minister Harsh Vardhan, MP Manoj Tiwari, and Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, were participating in this protest at Rajghat.
