Now as I speak I remember Leo Pinto (the former Indian hockey goalkeeper) who passed away on Tuesday. I attended his funeral. He was a very positive person and had a very good sense of humour. He would always help and encourage the youth to improve their performance. The funeral was a tribute to a dignified person who always took his game very seriously.
He stayed just two buildings away from mine. I always called him Uncle Leo. He always encouraged me and supported my game. He loved the sport so much that even at the age of 96 he watched every single hockey match on TV. He would always take updates from me on all recent matches in the city. And that was really great!
