Julian Assange, the editor of WikiLeaks, walked out of London's High Court after being freed on bail last night, nine days after he was arrested for alleged sex crimes in Sweden.

Assange thanked the public, the media and the British judicial system, saying, "If justice is not always an outcome, at least it is not dead yet.

I hope to continue my work and continue to protest my innocence in this matter."

His time in solitary confinement prompted him "to reflect on the condition of those people around the world also in solitary confinement... in positions that are more difficult than those faced by me," he said.
