A suicide attack near a foreign guesthouse in the Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday killed eight people, including four women and wounded another 40, interior ministry officials said.
"Eight people have been killed. Four are women. Four others are male and 40 other people have been wounded. It was a suicide bombing," interior ministry spokesman Zamarai Bashary said.
Another government official confirmed the same death toll. "There was an explosion in Wazir Akbar Khan near a foreign guesthouse, which was also close to my former first vice president's house. Two of his bodyguards have been martyred," President Hamid Karzai said.
