A Briton sprayed room fresheners to hide the stench of his girlfriend's rotting body that lay on a sofa for 10 months.
Gabriel Brown, who hid the stench of 37-year-old Lynn Warman's body from neighbours, told the police that he was too grief stricken to report her death at their home in Worthing, West Sussex, The Metro reported on Thursday.
Brown, who was arrested in December last year, admitted that his girlfriend had died in February.
Horsham Magistrates' Court coroner was told that Brown was himself found dead in January this year while on police bail.

A postmortem examination of the woman did not turn up a cause of death due of the length of time she had been dead.
"Gabriel and Lynn had their ups and downs like any couple but they seemed happy a lot of the time. It's horrible to think she lay there for nearly a year as he lived in the same house.
"The smell must have been terrible. I hope they can both now rest in peace," a former neighbour was quoted as saying.
