Strange: Diners can become 'patients' and have a meal in a stylised operating theatre or trussed up in a straitjacket |
You don't need to be sick to enjoy hospital food. The latest craze of hospital-themed dining isn't turning stomachs, but seems to be appealing to people's palates.
Hospitalis, a medically-themed restaurant just opened in Riga, where customers are served by uniformed nurses, eat off operating tables, and find syringes in their gravy, all in a sterile atmosphere.
A customer who visited Hospitalis said, "The strange restaurant's meals are served in flasks and operating room dishes. But the dining experience is also made fun and unique since diners are provided atypical cutlery to eat with; including syringes, tweezers and scary cutlery that resembles a scalpel."
