Bhuvneshwar gave away only eight runs in six overs and took four wickets that helped India to a convincing win over Sri Lanka in the do-or-die tri-series clash.
"When he grabbed the wickets of (Upul) Tharanga and Sangakkara on two consecutive deliveries, we prayed he would take a hat-trick. However, that was not to be," said Kiran Pal yesterday.
"But we are not disappointed at all because he took important wickets that helped us win," the proud father said from Meerut. u00a0

"Our neighbours in Ganga Nagar society started flocking our home the moment Bhuvneshwar sent the top-order batsmen into the pavilion.
Our friends and neighbours were here till the presentation ceremony got over in the wee hours," he added.
Bhuvneshwar's analysis of 6-1-8-4 earned him the man-of-the-match award. "I don't know whom he has attributed his award to. May be victims of flood-affected people in Uttarakhand. He had already donated Rs 1,00,000 initially".
