Though Highveld Lions' victory over Yorkshire in the first match on Saturday ensured both Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings were out of the CLT20.
The Indian outfits played for pride in the day's second encounter and were desperate to win, said MI wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik.

"It (the match) was important for both teams and wanted to win for pride. Both play in the IPL, so we had a fight going. It was good to play an important game and one that had a close finish," Karthik was quoted as saying by clt20.com. His 45-ball 74 went in vain as Mumbai lost by six runs.
