MCA's managing committee members were unanimous in their choice to appoint Contractor, according to sources. However, the association will make a final announcement later. It is learnt that Contractor will not have any hesitation in taking over.
The post has been vacant since April when former India wicketkeeper Pandit was asked to resign because of his association with Rajasthan C A as Director of its cricket academy. In the past, Contractor has been associated with the National Cricket Academy, Bangalore as a Talent Resources Development Officer (TRDO) for West Zone. He was replaced by former opening batsman - the late Ashok Mankad.
Meanwhile, to curb the overage menace plaguing local cricket, the MCA decided to restrict the number seasons players can be part of age group teams - a maximum of two years for players in the U-14 and U-16 age categories while an U-19 player can play in his category for no more than three years. u00a0
