In February, Abbott kicked off his Test career in brilliant fashion against Pakistan in Centurion where he claimed nine wickets in the game including 7 for 29 in the first dig. Strangely, he hasn't been able to get a game after that. He will be in the playing XI of the second Test in case Morkel doesn't get fit.
It is learnt that Dale Steyn, who was booed by the Wanderers crowd after he and Vernon Philander batted for a draw, was very disappointed by the reaction. He had to be pacified a great deal by skipper Graeme Smith.u00a0
