Steady start for New Zealand

New Zealand openers started off cautiously as they went to lunch on 71 for no loss after opting to bat in the first Test against West Indies at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium here yesterday


Both Daniel Flynn and Martin Guptill scored 34 when the players left the field for the break, having faced 96 and 80 deliveries respectively.

The match saw top-order batsman Chris Gayle return to the West Indies Test line-up for the first time since December 2010.
