Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar scored his fifth World Cup century during the Group B game against England at Bangalore's M. Chinaswamy Stadium on Sunday.


Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar scored his fifth World Cup century during the Group B game against England at Bangalore's M. Chinaswamy Stadium on Sunday.

It makes him the highest century-maker in World Cup history.

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, former Australian opening batsman Mark Waugh and Australian captain Ricky Ponting have all scored four World Cup centuries.u00a0

Tendulkar's 120 from 115 balls was also his 47th ODI century, and 98th overall. The innings included five sixes and 10 fours.

The 37-year-old has accumulated 1944 runs from 38 World Cup matches at an impressive average of 58.90.
