Former New Zealand batsman Nathan Astle holds the record for the fastest double century in test cricket. He achieved the feat against England in the year 2002 in Christchurch. He completed his double century in just 153 balls. His innings ended with a score of 222 runs off 168 deliveries including 28 fours and 11 sixes

Ben Stokes

England skipper Ben Stokes comes second on the list. Back in the year 2016 in Cape Town, Stokes smashed 200 in 163 balls against South Africa. Further, he extended his innings by completing 258 runs in 198 deliveries. His knock was laced with 30 fours and 11 sixes

Virender Sehwag

The third place is in the name of the former star Indian opener Virender Sehwag. Facing 168 balls he scored 200 runs against Sri Lanka in a test match played in Mumbai. His innings ended with a score of 293 runs including 40 fours and 7 sixes

Virender Sehwag appears yet again on the list. He also achieved the score of 200 runs against the arch-rivals Pakistan in 182 balls. He departed on a score of 254 runs including 47 fours and 1 six

Brendon McCullum

New Zealand legend Brendon McCullum is the fifth fastest player to hit a double century in the longest format of the game. He bashed the Pakistan's bowlers for 202 runs in 188 balls. Achieving the 200 feat in 186 deliveries, McCullum smashed 21 fours and 11 sixes
