In the second Test match against West Indies, the "Three Lions" stalwart Joe Root smashed a fabulous 122-run knock. His knock came in 178 deliveries which saw him smash 10 fours with a strike rate of 68.54

With this century, Joe Root has now equalled his Test centuries tally with New Zealand's Kane Williamson and Australia's Steve Smith

Representing England in 142 Tests, Root has registered 32 tons to his name along with Williamson (100 Test matches) and Smith (109 Test matches)

Also, the fourth and fifth places are in the names of Indian batsmen, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara

Indian star Virat Kohli holds the fourth place with 29 centuries in 113 matches. So far, the right-hander has accumulated 8,848 runs with a best score of unbeaten 254 runs

India's test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara comes fifth on the list of active players with the most test centuries. In 103 matches, the stylish test batsman has 19 centuries. He has scored 7,195 runs with the highest score of unbeaten 206 runs
