Kolkata: All India Football Federation (AIFF) is expected to open an investigation against Gregory Arnolin of FC Goa after Atletico de Kolkata player Baljit Sahni lodged an official complaint over an alleged racial slur.
In an interview to Bengali daily Ebela, the former JCT player had accused Arnolin of racially abusing him in Atletico's recent match against FC Goa in the Indian Super League (ISL).
In an altercation with the FC Goa defender, Sahni ended up headbutting his counterpart and was shown a straight red card as a result.
Sahni went on lodge a formal complaint to AIFF Vice President Subrata Dutta about the incident.
"Yes, I have received a mail from Baljit and I have forwarded that to Kushal Das.
"I have done whatever I could do in my purview. I expect the investigation will start soon," Dutta told Goal.com yesterday.
