After 0-2 loss to NorthEast United FC, Mumbai City FC marquee player-cum-coach says India skipper will remain on the left wing even if he is unhappy in that position

Guwahati: Mumbai City FC's marquee player-cum- manager Nicolas Anelka slammed his players, particularly India skipper Sunil Chhetri, in the wake of another defeat in the second edition of the Indian Super League, which left them in sixth place.

Mumbai lost 0-2 against Northeast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, thanks to goals from Bruno Aires and Diomansy Kamara.

Asked about his tactic of playing India skipper Chhetri on the left wing, the Frenchman said, "I am working with the side that was given to me. The players were chosen by the management. If I was given a choice (I) would have chosen differently."

"I was told Chhetri is a left-winger and a striker. So I played him as a left-winger. I didn't know Chhetri before I came to India, I have played him as I feel fit. If Sunil is not happy on the left, he's not happy. But I decide where he plays, that is life. He did not pass the ball as a number 10 should, so he will continue playing on the left," he added.

The defeat means Mumbai will have to win all their three remaining matches to harbour any hopes of making it to the semi-finals.
