India will host the field hockey men's Champions Trophy in 2011, the game's world governing body said on Wednesday.
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) confirmed India as hosts after a meeting of its executive board.
"After the success of the World Cup (in New Delhi) in March this year, the FIH has decided to return to India in December 2011," the FIH said in a press release.
It will be the third time that India has staged the event after hosting it in 2005 and 1996.
