Rory's press conference...
McIlroy told a press conference in Wentworth on Wednesday that the act of sending out the wedding invitations over last weekend made him realise that he "wasn't ready for all the marriage entails", thereby ending his almost three-year relationship with Wozniacki.

On Thursday, Wozniacki sent out a Twitter message to her six lakh-plus followers (614,000 to be precise) worldover drawing a similarity between her present situation and the motto of her favourite football club, Liverpool.

"It's a hard time for me right now. Thanks for all the sweet messages! Happy I support Liverpool right now because I know I'll never walk alone," wrote Wozniacki.

Serena supports Caroline
Moments later, World No 1 Serena Williams replied to Wozniacki's tweet pledging her support for the Danish player. "@CaroWozniacki I'll always walk with you #friendsforever," wrote the American.

Meanwhile, Wozniacki made her first public appearance since the highly publicised split when she turned up for practice at Roland Garros on Friday ahead of Sunday's French Open. World No 13 Wozniacki plays Belgium's Yanina Weickmayer in her first round encounter in Paris.
