Indian hockey legend Dhanraj Pillay believes there could be no better news for Indian hockey in the recent past than the allocation of the Olympic Qualifiers to the sub-continent.u00a0

On Saturday, hockey's world governing body, FIH decided to conduct the Olympic Qualifiers and all other major hockey tournaments in India.
"I have always said that it will be tough for India to qualify for the London Olympics if we were to play the qualifiers outside the country.
But now that the FIH has awarded them to India, the London (2012) dream could well be a reality as our boys will have the advantage of some passionate home support in our own backyard," Pillay told MiD DAY yesterday.
Indian hockey has been suffering recently due to a power struggle between Hockey India and the Indian Hockey Federation. The four-time Olympian has taken it upon himself to solve this matter too.
"I will speak to Hockey India secretary Narinder Batra and try to convince him. If all parties are working to promote hockey then we must work out a compromise," Pillay said.
