The 35th Annual Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana (WCG) rink hockey tournament got off to a rollicking start at the floodlit WCG tennis courts in Santacruz


The 35th Annual Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana (WCG) rink hockey tournament got off to a rollicking start at the floodlit WCG tennis courts in Santacruz.

In the inaugural match of the girls group, St Theresa's HS crushed Canossa 7-0.

Jessica D'Costa was the star performer with three goals and was ably supported by Jessica Fernandes, Nehal Shigwan, Rajeshwari Chavan and Heena Shaikh who scored a goal each.

Don Bosco dominated the first match of the boys group overhauling St Theresa's 11-1. Don Bosco were leading 6-0 at the half time.

Mihir Patil stole the show, netting seven goals with Jonathon D'Souza and Sanpeten Nadar chipping in with two goals each. Aniket Agarwal was the lone scorer for the losing team.
