India badminton star PV Sindhu has completed the Green Challenge - an initiative launched with the intention of educating people about the government's greenhouse program. World Championships runner-up Sindhu was nominated for the challenge by former India cricketer VVS Laxman, and she, in turn, nominated another sportswoman, boxer MC Mary Kom, among others.
Sindhu posted this (above) picture to her 2.46 million Twitter followers with the message: "Challenge accepted, and planted 3 saplings now. Thank you @VVSLaxman281 for nominating me for #HarithaHaram. I'm passing the #greenchallenge to @MangteC @Suriya_offl @Samanthaprabhu2. I hope all of you would join to make our planet greener." The post received over 11,000 'likes'.
