Sher-E-Punjab maintained their winning rythm in the inaugural World Series Hockey with a 2-1 win over Mumbai Marines at the Surjit Singh Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar yesterday.
Deepak Thakur scored the winner for Punjab after Mumbai's Hari Prasad had cancelled outu00a0 Bikramjeet Singh's opening goal.u00a0 With 22 points (seven wins, one draw and two defeats), Shers strengthened their position at the top of the table.
Meanwhile, Marines languish second from bottom with just 10 points (three wins, one draw and six defeats). Elsewhere, Karnataka Lions beat Pune Strykers 3-2 at the KSHA Stadium in Bangalore.
