Mahesh Jagdale of Elphinstone Cricket Club shocked favourite Devendra Joshi to storm into the quarter-finals of the Islam Gymkhana-BSAM.in Open Snooker Tournament yesterday.

Jagdale got off to just the start he needed with a break of 70 in the opening frame that seemed to have rattled the seasoned Joshi early in the contest, and never looked back as he dominated the match with fluent potting.

India No 8 Siddharth Parikh of PJ Hindu Gymkhana halted Nikil Ootam of CCI when he rallied from the loss of the opening two frames to win four in a row.
