The Don Bosco under-12 hockey team with the Walter D’Souza Trophy on Saturday
Don Bosco High School âA' (Matunga) are certainly on a roll as they added another trophy to their cabinet. The Matunga school were in a dominant mood and charged past St Lawrence High School (Borivali), posting a facile 8-0 win in the final of the Walter D'Souza Trophy for boys under-12 in the inter-school hockey tournament at the St Stanislaus High School turf on Saturday. The Don Bosco schoolboys showed good teamwork and started in whirlwind fashion as they took the lead through Clyde Mendonca's strike in the third minute.
No resistance
Thereafter, Don Bosco hardly encountered any resistance from the Borivali team and scored three more goals at regular intervals through the efforts of Aditya Ghadge, Rushil Gangurde and Rezin David, to finish the first session with a healthy 4-0 cushion.

After the change of ends, Don Bosco continued to call the shots as St Lawrence were unable to plug the gaps at the back. They added four more goals to complete the margin of victory. Roving forward Naitish Jadhav contributed two goals while teammates Aayush Mane and Malhar Gargote scored one apiece to round off the tally.
Stanislaus settle for bronze
Earlier, St Stanislaus High School (Bandra) did not have to break into a sweat to claim the bronze medal as their opponents Children's Academy (Malad) failed to report for their third-place match.
