With a mammoth 409 players set to go under the hammer in Mumbai on February 13, the inaugural edition of Women's Premier League (WPL) will be as 'mega' as things can get. Amongst 409 players who have registered for the WPL auction, about 246 are Indians and the remaining 163 are overseas players.
Interestingly, about 24 players, out of which 10 are Indians and 14 are overseas players, have listed themselves at the highest base price of Rs. 50 lakh. The 2023 season is likely to get more exciting as the team franchises will try to make the best combination of players for the cricket's largest league.
The highest base price list of cricketers include Team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Indian batting mainstay Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma, Alyssa Healy, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, Sophie Ecclestone and Deandra Dottin. The members of the winning Indian U-19 T20 World Cup team have also registered themselves for the auction. The total purse value for the five franchises is Rs. 12 crore.

The WPL 2023 Auction will be held at the JIO Convention Centre in Mumbai.

The WPL 2023 Auction will kick off at 2:30 PM IST. However, the pre-show will start earlier around 1 PM IST.
In India, the WPL 2023 Auction will be broadcasted live on television via Sports18. The auction will be live streamed in India via Jio Cinema.
