Founders with a Purpose


Parul Bali, a qualified lawyer from National Law University, Jodhpur, had always dreamt of being her own boss. Determined to make a difference, Parul launched Spekta (short for “Spectacular”). She spearheads the Marketing and Finance teams at Spekta, drawing on her corporate experience at PwC and Ernst & Young.

Indu Bali, the heart of Spekta Cosmetics, is a versatile people-person with a background in teaching and remarkable interpersonal skills. Guided by her passion for research, she heads the Operations and R&D teams. Indu now elevates Spekta Cosmetics to new heights, constantly brainstorming innovative makeup products suitable for Indian women.

Spekta Cosmetics' journey began with a single-minded focus – creating products tailored for Indian skin tones. They noticed a scarcity of makeup options for dusky  skin tones, particularly in lipsticks and nail polishes. Most international brands lacked the shades that resonated with Indians. To fill this void, Spekta Cosmetics diligently researched and launched cost-effective, high-quality, and cruelty-free True Matte Lipsticks specially made in India for Indian skin tones.

Over the years, Spekta Cosmetics has garnered a fast growing customer base, expanding its presence across India. In the last financial year, the brand witnessed an impressive 160% revenue growth, forging beneficial partnerships with major players in the D2C segment, such as Nykaa, Amazon, Flipkart, Kindlife, Smytten and Blinkit. Now, with a strong foundation, they are poised to diversify and extend their product offerings.
