To say MET Gala 2024 was in full bloom this year would be an understatement. The event always brings out haute couture looks that grab attention and spark discussions among netizens. Each year, there are some outfits that are deemed "wacky."

In 2023, Jared Leto made waves with his cat costume, while in 2022, Kylie Jenner's bridal-inspired attire turned heads. This year, a fresh batch of eccentric ensembles has claimed the spotlight. Let's take a closer look at some of the standout wacky outfits:

1) Tyla in the sand dress
Making her first appearance at the Met Gala on May 7, the 22-year-old singer Tyla chose an outfit inspired by "the sands of time," as she revealed on the red carpet. Her Balmain ensemble, complete with an hourglass clutch, proved a challenge to walk in, as seen in footage of her needing assistance on the Metropolitan Museum of Art's staircase.

2) Jessica Biel
Returning to the MET Gala after 2013, Jessica Biel gave a glimpse into her pre-red carpet routine, including soaking in 20 lbs. of epsom salt for 30 minutes the night before the event. She shared this in a TikTok video, emphasizing it was "for real" as she poured the salt into her bathtub.

3) 'Kim, where are your organs?'
Kim Kardashian, the reality star and Skims founder, chose a metallic silver corset dress from Maison Margiela for the Met Gala red carpet. True to her style, the gown featured a floral motif with cutouts. However, the corset look prompted netizens to wonder how Kim Kardashian fit into the dress.

4) Taylor Russel's wooden bodice
Arriving at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Taylor Russell embraced the "Garden of Time" theme with a wooden turtleneck bodice sculpted to fit her torso. Paired with a draped white skirt and adorned with hand-painted illustrations of birds and plants.

5) Doja Cat's wet dress
Doja Cat, the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper arrived at the MET Gala red carpet in a wet dress look. She continued the wet look aesthetic with her makeup, featuring sparkly black mascara dripping down her cheeks. Posing on the Met Gala's sprawling red carpet, she strategically adjusted her dress to reveal its transparent quality, mimicking the effect of being soaked in tears.
