Tamil version of Rajini's film has done well, but Hindi version has just touched about Rs 7 cr compared to Rs 21 cr weekend collection of 'Heropanti' in Mumbai
'Heropanti' has collected around Rs 21 crore in its opening weekend
If their box office revenues are anything to go by, Tiger Shroff's debut film, 'Heropanti', has done better than legendary actor Rajinikanth's latest film, 'Kochadaiiyaan'. While 'Heropanti's opening weekend collections stand at Rs 21 crore, the Hindi version of 'Kochadaiiyaan' just touched about Rs 7 crore in Mumbai.

'Heropanti' has collected around Rs 21 crore in its opening weekend
Trade analyst Komal Nahata says, "A film like 'Heropanti' which has newcomers like Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon — the only known face in it is Prakash Raj — has earned Rs 21 crore; this is not all that common. On the other hand, the Hindi version of 'Kochadaiiyaan' has earned only Rs 7 crore whereas the Tamil version of the film has done predictably well in South India."
Trade pundits blame the failure of the Rajinikanth-starrer on the fact that it is an animation film. Exhibitor Rajesh Thadani says, "The biggest drawback of the film is that the people didn't get to see Rajinikanth in flesh and blood. Also, the film's release date kept getting pushed ahead; this was not good for the film.
Meanwhile, Hugh Jackman's 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' has done a business of Rs 16.1 crore which is a good number."
