As kids, all boys have read G I Joe comics or played a war game with the toys. So when the franchise makes its way on the big screen, there's bound to be huge expectations for the adaptation to evoke immense interest. We know G I Joe is a top secret force that consists of heavily trained military personnel designated to carry out state protecting tasks by the government. Duke (Tatum) and his friend Ripcord (Wayans) join the unit to make sure futuristic weapons of mass destruction don't fall into the wrong hands.

What's hot: It's a mad rush to deliver one blow after the other as characters blow buildings, battle each other and still emerge unhurt. It's over the top and silly, but if you leave the logic of why every third minute something erupts into a ball of fire, you might actually enjoy the proceedings. The second half has some really good action scenes.u00a0

What's not: Channing Tatum and Sienna have zero chemistry. Despite efforts to strike sparks between the two by giving them juvenile scenes of confrontation, the end result is simply mild. There are times when the movie looks like Transformers made on a moderate budget. With the same studio bringing forth both the products, the analysis somewhat holds true.u00a0u00a0

What to do: A mindless action film with a wafer-thin plot and too many characters, G I Joe is just another wannabe blockbuster wanting to make a quick buck.
