Akshay Singh, who is making his debut on the big screen with this week's release Vikalp, is in emotional turmoil.
He is excited about his film hitting the theatres this weekend, but he is also upset that his co-star Nirmal Pandey isn't around to see it. The Bandit Queen actor passed away from a heart attack on 18 February 2010.
The two had been very good friends since the newcomer's first TV show Kashmeer, which they did together.
"Vikalp is my first film but unfortunately the last Bollywood release for Nirmal Bhai. I deeply feel his absence.
With his passing, I have lost someone close and also a guide," said Akshay. "His award-winning portrayal of a transvestite in Daayra is among the best."
