Yesterday besides Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor too made a bid for the Pune IPL team but lost to the Sahara group.
Can't win 'em all
But Saif, in his usual style, takes it on the chin. He isn't disappointed that they lost the bid. He views it as just like a business deal and he accepts that no one can't win them all.
Saif says,u00a0 "It is a business proposition that made sense to us at a certain price -- but certainly not at $370 million! And it doesn't make economic sense to us anymore."
Was bidding for the team was because he comes from a "crickey family" or becauseu00a0 it made good business sense? Saif says candidly, "It was bothu2026 we love cricket. And glamour and IPL go together wellu00a0-- but at a certain price only."

Last month, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor were interested in bidding for an IPL team (Pune) along with Karisma and Sanjay Kapur. A sudden change of rules ruined the plan. The duo along with Kareena's sister Karisma Kapoor and her husband Sanjay Kapur and Videocon's Venugopal Dhoot were interested in buying the Pune team. The auction was cancelled as a new set of rules had taken placeu00a0-- something that had upset Saif and he was unsure if he would bid again. He did. But the dream continues to remains out of reach. |
