During the recent shoot schedule of Veer in Khandala, Salman Khan parked himself at Sunil Shetty's farmhouse. Not many in B-Town are aware that Sallu and Sunil anna's dosti dates back to over 20 years.

When Khan realised that Shetty's bungalow was close to the shooting spot, he called him up. Shetty immediately agreed to host him. Mithun Chakraborthy, who also fatures in Veer, also stayed in the farmhouse.

A source says, "Sunil has always been very fond of Salman and thinks he's a great guy. In fact, as anchor, Sallu had an extra episode of 10 Ka Dum canned especially to promote Shetty's film Daddy Cool."

"Salman and Dada (Mithun Chakraborthy) were shooting just two minutes away from my farmhouse. It would be a waste of time to stay at a hotel when my bungalow was right there," says Sunil.

He adds, "I mostly spend my weekends in Khandala with family. As I wasn't in town, Salman and Dada stayed for a couple of days. They are very close friends of mine."

About his dosti with Sallu, Sunil says, "I have known Salman ever since he used to frequent my clothing store (Mischief) to pick up stuff. In fact, Jackie and Salman were the only two people from the industry who attended my wedding. I share a fantastic relationship with him and we have always been good friends. Earlier, we'd meet regularly but I am not a night person like him so can't handle late nights."

Sunil, however, will also not be in town on October 13 when several B-Town folk walk the ramp for Salman. "I will be in Bangkok shooting or I would have loved to walk the ramp for his Being Human organisation."

Back to basics
In his next film Red Alert, Sunil Shetty plays a farm labourer who becomes a Naxalite due to circumstances. "I had to wear a vest and lungi and cycle through rough terrains and jungles with insects and thorns all over me. It was going back to the basicsu00a0- no mobiles or luxuries. It was very difficult every day and I had a dress man on hand to tie the lungi. For the action sequences, I had to belt up my lungi or it would fall open! My character is based on a real person but I can't disclose who he is as the person is alive."
