An acclaimed choreographer, director, actor, producer, and scriptwriter, Farah Khan is one of the rarest gems of Bollywood who dons many hats with elan. From stepping into the film industry as a background dancer to shining bright on the silver screen as an actor, Farah has left an impressive mark on almost every facet of the Hindi film industry. The ace choreographer who got bit by the dancing bug after watching Michael Jackson's music video, 'Thriller' back in the 80s, made her Bollywood debut as a choreographer with the iconic romantic song, 'Pehla Nasha' from Aamir Khan's 'Jo Jeeta Woh Sikander' in 1992 and went on to choreograph many more hit songs like 'Ruk Ja Oh Dil Deewane' from 'DDL', 'Dhol Bajne Laga' from 'Virasat', 'Chhaiyya Chhaiyya' from 'Dil Se' to name a few. After cementing herself as a successful choreographer of Bollywood, Farah ventured into film direction with 'Main Hoon Na' in 2004. The multifaceted personality who impressed the audience with her acting skills with her debut movie, 'Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi' in 2012, Farah is a popular face on the small screen who has appeared in numerous reality shows as a judge. As the fabulous Farah Khan is turning a year older today, we take a look back at some of the iconic Bollywood songs that are brilliantly choreographed by the legendary choreographer.

Chaiyya Chaiyya

The iconic song from the 1998 romantic-thriller, 'Dil Se' featured Shah Rukh Khan and Malaika Arora dancing on a moving train. While the powerful voices of Sukhwinder Singh and Sapna Awasthi set the mood of the song, the chemistry between Shah Rukh and Malaika and the smartly choreographed dance steps make the song visually engaging.

Ek Pal Ka Jeena

Probably one of the most popular songs from Hrithik Roshan's debut movie, 'Kaho Na...Pyaar Hai', 'Ek Pal Ka Jeena' is a peppy dance number that made Hrithik an overnight dancing sensation. Although the sizzling dance moves created a lot of hype back then, the iconic 'air pumping' hook step choreographed by Farah is something that will stay with every cinema lover forever.

Sheila Ki Jawani

If we talk about the best item song choreographed by Farah, then it HAS to be 'Sheila Ki Jawani' from the movie 'Tees Maar Khan'. The song which featured Katrina Kaif in a never-seen-before hot avatar is hands down the best item song choreographed by Khan. Right from the signature hook step to the music, everything about the item number is simply amazing, well all the credit goes to the genius, Farah!

Featuring Malaika Arora and Salman Khan, this song from the 2010 blockbuster flick, 'Dabanng' grabbed the eyeballs for its stellar choreography and peppy music. A well-choreographed song, 'Munni Badnaam Hui' is still recalled as the best item song of Arora.

Ghagra

Starring Ranbir Kapoor and 'Dhak Dhak' girl Madhuri Dixit, this song from Ayan Mukherji's 2013 romantic comedy-drama, saw Farah and Madhuri joining forces after a decade. Ranbir and Madhuri's quirky chemistry and their energetic moves will force you to shake your leg along.
