Have you heard? Diwali dhamaka

Shah Rukh Khan, Aditya Chopra and Salman Khan

This Diwali, gear up for fireworks of a different kind. Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are set to clash with the teasers of their upcoming offerings. Aditya Chopra’s YRF is looking to showcase the first glimpse of the SRK-starrer Pathaan, while Salman gives a peek into the world of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (KKBKKJ) respectively on October 23. What makes the date of great significance is that cricket’s arch rivals India and Pakistan will have a face-off in the 16th match of the ICC T20 World Cup. So, it’s a given that this contest will grab all eyeballs, whether on field or on television and mobile screens. Naturally, Salman and SRK are looking to make the most of this readily available audience to register the first communication of their much anticipated movies. Never mind that KKBKKJ is slated to release on December 30, and Pathaan arrives about a month later. While Salman’s team is reportedly working on the motion picture and a teaser of KKBKKJ, YRF are readying a mini-teaser of Pathaan to unveil during the keenly awaited cricket match. It’s another thing that Salman’s next Eid offering, Tiger 3 is with YRF, and the two actor-friends feature in each other’s upcoming action thrillers. As they say in the film industry, despite all the talk of brotherhood, when it comes one’s personal interest, naa koi kisi ka bhai hai, naa hi koi kisi ki jaan.

New Begum in Badshah’s life

New Begum in Badshah’s life

Gossip in glamourville is that Badshah’s claims of being single on Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives season 2 are far from true. There’s more to his refusal to be set up with Seema Sajdeh by show producer Karan Johar. We hear that Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh, has been seeing Punjabi actor Isha Rikhi, whom he met at a common friend’s party. They hit it off instantly, thanks to similar taste in music and films. Though have reportedly spoken about their relationship to their respective families, they want to take it slow for now.

The cat is out of the bag

The cat is out of the bag

Don’t know why some actors keep referring to their past relationships even after moving on. Like Sidharth Malhotra, who, when asked during a recent interview to name one thing he has learnt from his last relationship, said, “Don’t gift pets.” When probed about one thing he’d like to steal from Alia Bhatt, he replied, “The cat… Edward.” Interestingly, when Karan Johar asked Sid on his recent chat show to name one thing he missed about his ex-girlfriend, the Thank God actor quipped, “Her cat.” While that’s enough hint for anyone to guess that Sid had gifted Edward to Alia when they were dating, wonder what current girlfriend Kiara Advani has to say about this?

Arshad, Pratik to venture into the dacoit zone

Arshad, Pratik to venture into the dacoit zone

Over 12 years since Paan Singh Tomar, for which the late Irrfan Khan bagged the Best Actor National Award, director Tigmanshu Dhulia is set to foray into dacoit-land again. This time around, he is telling the story of bandit Shiv Kumar Patel aka Dadua, who was killed in a fight with Uttar Pradesh Police Special Task Force (STF) led by IPS Officer Amitabh Yash. The dacoit-cop thriller, titled Yash, features Arshad Warsi as Dadua daku, while Pratik Gandhi essays the role of the police officer who led the operation in eliminating the dreaded dacoit and his gang in 2007. Dhulia, who also explores the unholy dacoit-politician nexus in UP, is slated to begin filming in January 2023. By then, Arshad and Pratik will complete their respective commitments.

Comeback with a home production

Comeback with a home production

Currently, Sonam K Ahuja’s world revolves around Anand Ahuja and her son, Vayu. While speculation abound over her next film, we hear the actor — whose last offering was The Zoya Factor (2019) — isn’t likely to return to the set for another six months. However, when she does return, it could be with a home-production, backed by sister Rhea. Apparently, the Veere Di Wedding producer has a strong script ready, which she has even discussed with her actor-sister. While Sonam is said to have liked the subject, Rhea, too, is of the opinion that they will begin work on it only when the former is ready.

Rakul Preet Singh, who turned 32 yesterday, had a working birthday. The actor is in London, shooting for her next, with Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar. Rakul celebrated her special day on the set of director Mudassar Aziz’s yet-untitled rom-com. The actor cut a few cakes, one of which was reportedly brought by producer-boyfriend Jackky Bhagnani. Malaika Arora, who is in the UK capital to spend some quality time with beau Arjun, also joined in the celebrations. The birthday girl is expected to be back in the bay for the unveiling of the new trailer of her Diwali offering, Thank God. The actor has a steady flow of releases. After Cuttputlli dropped on OTT last month, she will be seen in this Friday’s release, Doctor G, with Ayushmann Khurrana.
