His son came running to him and gave him a tight hug. His wife, Allu Sneha Reddy, visibly emotional gave a long hug to her husband. His daughter was dancing with joy upon her father's return. Police have made tight security arrangements around his residence.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Pallav Paliwal (@pallav_paliwal) Earlier, there was suspense on Friday night over his release. Jail authorities said they received the bail order late in the night and since the prisoners can’t be released during night hours as per the prison manual, the actor would be released next morning. Allu Arjun spent the night in Manjeera block as a special class status given by the Nampally Court that remanded him on Friday. A large number of fans of the actor remained outside the jail till late in the night waiting for his release. Allu Arjun’s lawyers submitted a personal bond of Rs 50,000 to Jail Superintendent as per the direction of the High Court. While granting interim bail for four weeks, the High Court had directed police to continue the investigation. It also directed the actor to cooperate in the investigation. Police had registered a case under Sections 105 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 118(1) (Voluntarily causing hurt) r/w 3(5) BNS against Allu Arjun, his security team and the management of the theatre. The interim bail capped the day-long dramatic developments that began on Friday morning with the actor’s arrest from his residence in Jubilee Hills. What Allu Arjun's counsel said in court During the bail hearing at Telangana HC,  Allu Arjun’s counsel argued that BNS Section 105 does not apply to him as he had nothing to do with the stampede. S. Niranjan Reddy argued that the actor can’t be held responsible for the stampede. He also informed the court that the theatre management and producer had informed the police in advance about Allu Arjun’s visit. Niranjan Reddy cited the case of the 2017 stampede at Vadodara Railway Station during actor Shah Rukh Khan’s train journey from Mumbai to Delhi to promote his movie ‘Raees’. The Gujarat High Court had quashed the complaint filed against Shah Rukh Khan for the stampede, which had killed one person and injured several others. The Supreme Court later upheld the High Court order. The Public Prosecutor told the court that Allu Arjun visited the theatre despite a request by police not to come, in view of the possibility of a huge gathering. (with inputs from IANS)

Allu Arjun arrest: Telugu star's counsel mentions Shah Rukh Khan in court

It was quite a day for Telugu superstar and National Award-winning actor Allu Arjun on Friday. The day began with him getting detained by the Telangana police in connection to the death of a woman in a stampede at the 'Pushpa 2' premiere on December 4. Soon after, a court passed a 14-day judicial custody of the actor to the police. However, by evening he was granted interim bail after an early hearing in court. During the interim bail hearing at the Telangana High Court, Allu Arjun's counsel mentioned Shah Rukh Khan and his 2017 train incident in his argument.  In January 2017, as part of the promotions for his film Raees, superstar Shah Rukh Khan decided to travel by an express train. When the train reached Vadodara station, a crowd of over 1000 people arrived at the station causing a stampede. It led to the death of a man and leaving several injured. A complaint was filed against Khan, stating he was responsible for the stampede as he threw t-shirts and smiley balls at the crowd. The Gujarat High Court had quashed the complaint filed against Shah Rukh Khan for the stampede, which had killed one person and injured several others. The Supreme Court later upheld the High Court order. Allu Arjun's counsel used the case to strengthen their argument in the court as it is similar in nature to that of the Telugu superstar. The defense highlighted that Shah Rukh Khan was deemed not liable for the stampede, even though he directly interacted with the crowd by throwing items, which were alleged to have caused the chaos. In contrast, they argued, Allu Arjun did not engage with the crowd during the Sandhya Theatre incident. The actor’s counsel S. Niranjan Reddy argued that the actor can’t be held responsible for the stampede. He also informed the court that the theatre management and producer had informed the police in advance about Allu Arjun’s visit. The Public Prosecutor told the court that Allu Arjun visited the theatre despite a request by police not to come in view of the possibility of a huge gathering. The court was informed that the actor reached the theatre in a rally. About Allu Arjun's arrest A police team took the national award-winning actor into custody from his house in Jubilee Hills, hours after his return from Delhi, where he attended the success meet of ‘Pushpa 2’. Allu Arjun's father, a well-known filmmaker Allu Arvind, actor brother Allu Sirish and other family members were present when he was arrested. The police team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Akanksh Yadav questioned Allu Arjun for nearly two hours in the light of the statements made by eye-witnesses. The police, which arrested the National Award-winning actor from his residence in Hyderabad, produced him before a magistrate Nampally Criminal Court complex. He was named accused number 11 in the case. The Ninth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate sent the actor to judicial custody till December 27. Police had registered a case under sections 105 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 118(1) (Voluntarily causing hurt) r/w 3(5) BNS against Allu Arjun, his security team and the management of the theatre. The case was registered at Chikkadpally Police Station on December 5 on a complaint by the deceased woman's husband. The police arrested the theatre owner, general manager and security manager on December 8. According to police there was no intimation from theatre management or the actor's team that they would be visiting the theatre. The theatre management also did not make any additional provisions regarding security to manage the crowd.

Kannada superstar Darshan and wife Pavithra Gowda get bail from Karnataka HC

The Karnataka High Court on Friday granted bail to Kannada superstar Darshan and his partner Pavithra Gowda in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case. The bench, headed by Justice Vishwajith Shetty, also granted bail to accused Nagaraju, Anukumar, M. Laxman, Jagadish, and Pradoosh Rao. Senior counsel C. V. Nagesh represented Darshan and the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) P. Prasanna Kumar made submissions for the prosecution. Gowda's advocate Shilpa said bail was granted to her based on arguments questioning her involvement in the case. Gowda, presently lodged in the Central Prison of the Parappana Agrahara, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, will be released on Monday. During arguments on the regular bail plea, C. V. Nagesh had countered the objections raised by the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP), stating that although Renukaswamy's body reportedly had 39 blood stains, there was only one bleeding injury. Nagesh asserted that at every stage, from recording eyewitness statements to conducting the investigation, the prosecution "lied". "The bail was granted based on a report by doctors from Ballari. The doctors at BGS Hospital also accepted the Ballari doctors' report, confirming the need for surgery of the actor," he said. "We must proceed with the operation as recommended by the doctors. It cannot be done on demand after three or four weeks," he argued. Earlier, Special Public Prosecutor P. Prasanna Kumar submitted to the Karnataka High Court that Darshan was "misusing" the interim bail granted to him on medical grounds. Submitting his objections to the court for granting the regular bail, Prasanna Kumar said that the interim bail was taken citing urgency and the court was told that he was likely to suffer a stroke. Prasanna Kumar further said that in the case of Darshan, dramatic situations are created. Recently, the court had extended Darshan's interim bail on medical grounds. Darshan was released from prison on October 30 on interim bail after spending 131 days in jail. Darshan, admitted to the BGS Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru, was being treated for severe back pain. Darshan, his partner Gowda and 15 others were arrested on June 11 on charges of kidnapping and brutally murdering his fan Renukaswamy from Chitradurga. Renukaswamy had allegedly sent derogatory and obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda as he was miffed with the actor having a relationship with her despite being married.
