Prime Video recently released the latest season of Mumbai Diaries, which has been receiving widespread praise for its great storyline and cinematography. Set around the backdrop of 2005 Mumbai floods, the second part aims to strike a deep chord with its reliability and authenticity with viewers.

Director Nikkhil Advani dons multiple hats and is known for granting his actors the creative freedom they need to excel. Konkona Sen Sharma and Nikkhil have worked together in the previous season of Mumbai Diaries, delivering some memorable performances. Their reunion for the latest season was as adventurous as it could get.

Recalling the latest season's shooting experience with Konkona, Nikkhil Advani said, “We had quite a shooting experience this season, it was surely a dangerous thing. The production design of the set had scaffolding everywhere, and one of the particular scenes involved Konkona being trapped in a room flooded in water. To ensure that she had something to hold onto, we literally strapped her to the scaffolding kept in the room. And while we were inside the room, shooting and filling it up with water, we didn’t realize the amount of pressure it was exerting on the walls. We had to jump out of the set as the walls were beginning to give way. All in all, it was all cool and full of adventure, surely making it a fun shooting experience too."

Season 2 picks up months after the first, taking the Bombay General Hospital’s staff into a stormy crisis as Mumbai gets flooded after heavy downpour in the city. With outstanding cinematography and a super-talented ensemble cast, the series promises to enthral its viewers once again.

The series features Konkona Sen Sharma, Mohit Raina, Shreya Dhanwantary, Natasha Bharadwaj, Satyajeet Dubey and Mrunmayee Deshpande along with new entries like Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Riddhi Dogra.

Sharing his experience working with the team especially Nikkhil, Mohit said in a statement, “Working with Nikkhil Advani was a dream come true for me especially when I became a part of the OTT space. And post the first season, I now share a close special bond with him and Emmy Entertainment. I think they are like family, we have so much love and respect for each other.”

He added, “No doubt, it is very challenging to work with Nikkhil as you need to understand his vision, and what he wants to do. And that is why the best part of season one was that I completely submitted myself to him. So just like an elderly figure, he held our hands and sailed us all through the whole season. So yes, with the second season, it’s been a great learning experience for me and for all of us. He’s also super passionate about his work so it becomes really easy to work with him too.”
