Around the world with a bag

With its classy styles and cool colours, the bags at Viari's first outlet in Thane, are bound to take you on a world tour

While the leather satchel in a nutty brown colour reminds one of London’s favourite bag choice, some of the large handbags and leather slings for men will transport you to New York’s bustling roads. So, we wondered why this delight of a bag store chose to open its first store in the city in Thane.

“We had been looking at several locations across the city but the spots we were vying for were not available then. Thane is an upcoming suburb, and Viviana Mall in Thane seemed very promising. Also, it had the right environment,” explains Shashikala Venkatraman, director, Viari.

Their products are designed by London-based designer Silas Grant and have a very international appeal, though manufactured in an environment-friendly factory located on the outskirtsu00a0of Chennai.

Travel bag
We haven't come across a travel bag this good since a long time. The size of this bag is perfect for a weekend trip and can pass as hand luggage while flying too. They also stock water-repellent travel luggage in canvas.

On offer at the store are satchels in lush colours, belts, clutches, wallets, a spectacle-cum-sunglass pouch and bags in various sizes. All their bags have great compartments so you can dump your laptop or tablet, and other knick-knacks without having to look for them in an endless pit.

Multipurpose pouch
This simple buckled, skinny pouch can also be used as a tiny clutch (in pink for some pop) for an evening out.

They plan to open other outlets in the city in future and if taking a trip to Thane seems tedious, one can shop online on their website and have it delivered at no extra charge. They will soon be launching their next collection in stores.
