A convicted murderer obsessed with Justin Bieber recruited a former inmate to try to castrate and kill the pop star.
Dana Martin was arrested for raping and killing a 15-year-old girl in 2000, but since spending time behind bars, his newest teenage target appears to be the Canadian singer.

Martin met Mark Staake, a fellow inmate at Las Cruces state prison in New Mexico years ago. While there, Staake agreed to enlist his own nephew in order to go through with Martin’s murderous plot.

Staake and his nephew Tanner Ruane were scheduled to first travel to Vermont, where they would kill two of Martin’s former acquaintances using his trademark paisley ties to strangle the unidentified targets.
From there, Staake and Ruane would go to New York and set their sights on Justin Bieber and his bodyguard when the teen star was in the city for a performance at Madison Square Garden.
Martin, who remains behind bars, had become obsessed with the 18-year-old singer and has a tattoo in the boy’s image on his leg.
For an unknown reason, Martin was the one to tell police about the plot, turning over Staake and Ruane before either of them had the chance to fulfil their plans.
Staake was arrested in Vermont, while Ruane was found in New York with a set of pruning shears.
