Fugitive robber nabbed during brothel visit

The Faraskhana police have arrested Sameer Alias Samadhan Dilip Chavatmahal (26), an absconding accused in a robbery case, while he had come to visit a brothel in Budhwar Peth on Wednesday

Sameer was wanted in a robbery case reported at Lonavala Rural police station on July 31. Sameer and his accomplices are alleged to have forcefully entered the residence of one Jagannath Dashrath More (59), in Kusgaon and threatened them with a pistol and sharp weapons.


The accused had stolen gold ornaments and cash collectively valued at Rs 4.32 lakh.


After the incident Sameer and his aides had gone into hiding. On Wednesday morning, Assistant Police Inspector Geeta Bagawade received a tip-off that Sameer would be visiting a brothel in Budhwar Peth.


A trap was laid and he was apprehended. His custody has been transferred to the Lonavala Rural police after he was nabbed, said API Bagawade.
