The Pydhonie police yesterday arrested five people, including an ATS informer, for allegedly planting an explosive-like substance outside a garage in Malad over a property dispute.

The arrested men are Syed Shaikh, Imran Shaikh, Mehmood Shaikh, Shakil Shaikh and Maqsood Shaikh.
Maqsood, a resident of Malegaon, is the main suspect among the five as he provided the Shaikh clan with the explosive.

Police is now investigating as to how he had access to the RDX.u00a0According to the police, the arrested men wanted to encroach on the 800 sq feet garage, which was the property of Salim Khan and his other two brothers.

A bag full of RDX was left at their garage by Shakil, according to a plan which was contrived by Sayed, an ATS informer himself.

Later he gave a tip-off to the police about the bag, to get the Khans into trouble. The police then raided the garage near Sabkuch Shopping Centre.

As per the latest developments, the arrested accused have been handed over to the Bhangur nagar police.
