A security guard posted at the international terminal was injured after being hit by an Air India passenger coach, an airline official said today. The accident occurred last night.

"An Air India security guard was hit by an Air India coach at around 11.45 pm at the tarmac," said an Air India spokesperson. The guard was provided immediate medical assistant and has been admitted in Holy Spirit Hospital in Andheri, the spokesperson said. His condition is stated to be stable.
Police have registered a case of rash driving and taken the errant driver in custody.
According to sources, the guard, M A Raul, was hit by the Air India coach driver, S D Revdankar, at bay number 48, 49 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. This is the second mishap involving an Air India vehicle at the airport in little over a year. On March 30, 2008, a loader employed with a private firm was killed after being allegedly hit by an Air India service bus at the international terminal.
