Student who was molested by principal is too scared to return to school
Sarita Andrews (12, name changed), a student of Karthika High School, who was allegedly molested by her principal, is now searching for a new school that will allow her to take her Std V exams.
Rupesh Bamne, a neighbour of the family, said, "The girl is terrified and has not been going to school as she does not want to be humiliated. She wants to go to some other school in the neighbourhood."
Principal Ravindra Nair (49) allegedly molested her on December 9 when she had left her classroom to visit the washroom.
Nair allegedly came up behind the victim, covered her mouth with a handkerchief and tried to touch her private parts.
Andrews filed a police complaint against Nair at Vinoba Bhave Nagar police station.
Nair was arrested and lodged in judicial custody in Thane jail. On Thursday, his bail plea was rejected and his custody was extended by 15 days.
