The management of Siddharth College of Commerce and Economics at Fort have registered two separate non-cognisable complaints, one each at the Azad Maidan and Mira Road police stations, after their current principal U N Mhaske was allegedly kidnapped and beaten up by miscreants.

The incident took place on April 15, when unknown people barged into the college campus and manhandled college support staff, as well as the principal. “Our principal was beaten up and we have also submitted the CCTV footage of this incident with the police,” said a management member, who refused to disclose his name. The management has blamed this incident on ex-principal Krishna Patil and alleged that this was his way of getting back with the management for replacing him with the current principal.

While the complaint registered at Azad Maidan police looks at the miscreants manhandling the college staff and disrupting the routine, the NC registered at Mira Road police station is by principal U N Mhaske himself. “He has alleged that these men entered his home and threatened him and verbally abused him. He has also shared some CCTV footage alleging that he was beaten up. We are currently investigating into this matter,” said an official from the Mira Road police station.
College authorities are currently waiting to hear form the police before taking this matter to court.
