PM Modi to unveil major development projects in Maharashtra today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil and lay the foundation stones for various major development projects in Solapur, Maharashtra, on Friday, as per an official release.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil and lay the foundation stones for various major development projects in Solapur, Maharashtra, on Friday, as per an official release. The public program, scheduled for around 10.45 am, will witness the laying of foundation stones for eight AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) projects valued at approximately Rs 2,000 crore.


Apart from unveiling major development projects, PM Modi will dedicate nearly 90,000 residences built through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). The Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur will dedicate 15,000 houses, which will assist a wide range of people, including handloom workers, sellers, powerloom workers, rag pickers, bidi workers, and drivers.


"During a public programme in Solapur, Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of 8 AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) projects worth around Rs 2,000 crores in Maharashtra," the official release said.


"Prime Minister will dedicate more than 90,000 houses completed under PMAY-Urban in Maharashtra. Further, he will also dedicate 15,000 houses of Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur, whose beneficiaries comprise thousands of handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, rag pickers, Bidi workers, drivers, among others. Further, Prime Minister will kickstart the distribution of 1st and 2nd instalments to 10,000 beneficiaries of PM-SVANIDHI in Maharashtra during the programme," the official release said.

During the event, Modi will also begin distributing the first and second instalments of PM-SVANIDHI to 10,000 recipients in Maharashtra, a crucial step towards aiding small enterprises and entrepreneurs.

The PM visited the western state last week. In Nashik, he inaugurated the Youth festival there and later visited Mumbai to launch major infrastructural projects like the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, and railway lines at Navi Mumbai.

He inaugurated the MTHL, a crucial maritime bridge which connects Mumbai to Navi Mumbai; the bridge has been named 'Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewari-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu', constructed at a cost of over Rs 17,840 crore.

The PM, after that, launched various projects at the Synagogue in Navi Mumbai; he also laid the foundation stone of the underground road tunnel connecting Eastern Freeway's Orange Gate to Marine Drive. Reportedly, the 9.2-km-long tunnel will be built at a cost of more than Rs 8,700 crore and will be a significant infrastructure development in Mumbai.
