He complained of uneasiness after returning home from the celebrations; when he didn't wake up, he was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival
A 21-year-old man’s unexpected death after dancing in his society’s Garba celebrations has mystified his family and doctors. The youngster died in the wee hours of Wednesday morning after doing the Garba with his friends and family on Tuesday night. The autopsy report has failed to detect the exact cause of his death.u00a0

On Tuesday evening, Siddinga Dhangar, a labourer who lives in a Sewri chawl, took part in Navratri celebrations after work. Having danced till 10.30 pm, he returned to his chawl, where he lived with his parents and younger brother. He is suspected to have died in the early morning hours, after he complained of feeling feverish.
“He had fever almost a week back, for which he underwent treatment with a local doctor. He had resumed work. He was normal and even danced the garba at the celebrations that take place every year in our society after he was done with work,” said Anjappa Pujari, a relative.
Dhangar had dinner and went to bed around 12.30 pm. “He woke up at 3 am and told his relatives that he was feeling feverish; since it was late, we told him we’d take him to the doctor later in the day,” added Anjappa.
Dhangar’s relatives were alarmed when they failed to rouse him from sleep the next morning. His body felt cold to the touch, and fearing the worst, they rushed him to the civic-run KEM Hospital in Parel, where he was declared dead upon arrival.
Speaking to MiD DAY, a doctor from the hospital said, “He was brought to the hospital at around 7 am, and declared dead on arrival in the casualty ward. A post mortem was conducted in the hospital, which ruled out heart attack or any other such defect.”
“The cause of death is yet unknown and his samples have been sent for histopathology testing to determine what ailment he was suffering from,” added the doctor.
Dhangar’s last rites were performed in his village in Karnataka last morning, where all his family members were present.
“The last time we saw him, he was dancing the garba and was completely healthy. His death has come as a shock to us, as he was working and functioning normally,” said his relative.u00a0
